Breathing monitor - guardian angel of newborn babies...

During the first year of life breath of a baby might be irregular or might even stop. Slowing down of breathing or apnea can be caused either by SIDS or by cold, high fever or other disease states.

Breathing monitor Babysense II is a certified monitoring device that continuously detects breathing movements of baby, and when recording a life-threatening slowdown, irregularity, arrest or apnea, it triggers an audible and visual alarm. This brings help in time to save the baby's life. The device triggers an alarm if the breathing movement stopps for more than 20 seconds or if the breathing rate falls below 10 breaths per minute.

The system includes a control unit connected to the sensor pads located between the mattress and the bottom of the crib. There it monitors the breathing movements of the child.


Sensor pads are laid under the mattress, on the bottom of the cot, and that way they are in any direct contact with the baby, nor they limit the baby in natural movement. The connecting cable that connects the sensor pad(s) and the control unit is always attached to the crib railings, so there is no risk of baby's strangulation.

For the smallest children who do not yet 'travel' in the bed at night, it is enough to use just one sensor pad. Then the second pad can be used when on the road, for outdoor stroller, etc. Once the baby starts to move in the crib and crawl, it is necessary to use two pads to cover the entire surface of the cot.

Our mission is that there would be breathing monitors available in every Czech hospital and maternity hospital. And that parents could lend them home for as long as necessary. Lending points serve this purpose.
